Georgia and Tomme have been working hard on making their Christmas presents and have done quite a great job. Sadly, it was Tomme who needed to borrow Georgia's smock that said "artist in training," she had to show him how to finger paint.
We didn't have our traditional Thanksgiving celebration this year, it was sad to say goodbye to a tradition that lasted my entire lifetime and many years before that. Aunt Mary is missed every day and especially on Thanksgiving.
Since the entire Karman clan bailed on Nancy and I, we were on our own to make plans for at least this year. Mom and Dad Karman were off to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see Cathy, Fred, and Holly. Ann and Bill flew to some state way south of here to spend time with his adorable children. Mike and Vicki were off to Oregon, Illinois to spend time with her family. As for Nancy and I, we planned our first Thanksgiving in style, the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building. It was fabulous as you can see from the pictures below.
Papa's (this is what Georgia refers to Grandma and Grandpa Karman as) came back on Saturday, so Sunday we ventured out for our annual shopping trip to Michigan Avenue. The stores were not crowded so it was nice to wander around and not be bothered by too many people.
This week we are busy making Christmas cookies and staring at the advent calendar, which is a daily reminder of just how many days could be left until BLT arrives. By the way, if this baby is on Georgia's schedule he/she will be here this Saturday. I am not sure what my demeanor will be if this is not the case, so engage at your own risk!
