It's a Charlie Brown Christmas!

It is with great excitement that we let everyone know that Santa dropped off Charles Stanley Lang 6 days early on December 19, 2009! Charlie weighed in at 8lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He took his time making his grand entrance, but he was well worth the wait. Georgia and Charlie are already the best of friends and have been having lots of fun this holiday week. Merry Christmas to all!

We have lots to be thankful for!

December has arrived and we are all very excited! Georgia has been doing her best to be nice and not naughty, because she knows that Santa is checking his list. Tomme can't wait to have a week off from work, he says he needs it (I am not sure that he realizes that the week he is speaking of will also be the week we bring home our brand new addition.) I am excited because it is finally time for our little friend to arrive, as my doctor told me it is anytime between today and January 4th, I am glad that she narrowed that down for me!

Georgia and Tomme have been working hard on making their Christmas presents and have done quite a great job. Sadly, it was Tomme who needed to borrow Georgia's smock that said "artist in training," she had to show him how to finger paint.

We didn't have our traditional Thanksgiving celebration this year, it was sad to say goodbye to a tradition that lasted my entire lifetime and many years before that. Aunt Mary is missed every day and especially on Thanksgiving.

Since the entire Karman clan bailed on Nancy and I, we were on our own to make plans for at least this year. Mom and Dad Karman were off to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see Cathy, Fred, and Holly. Ann and Bill flew to some state way south of here to spend time with his adorable children. Mike and Vicki were off to Oregon, Illinois to spend time with her family. As for Nancy and I, we planned our first Thanksgiving in style, the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building. It was fabulous as you can see from the pictures below.

Papa's (this is what Georgia refers to Grandma and Grandpa Karman as) came back on Saturday, so Sunday we ventured out for our annual shopping trip to Michigan Avenue. The stores were not crowded so it was nice to wander around and not be bothered by too many people.

This week we are busy making Christmas cookies and staring at the advent calendar, which is a daily reminder of just how many days could be left until BLT arrives. By the way, if this baby is on Georgia's schedule he/she will be here this Saturday. I am not sure what my demeanor will be if this is not the case, so engage at your own risk!

October Fun

Lots of fun has been going on in October! Georgia has gotten some new winter garb, been dabbling in the arts, hanging out with her BFF and cousin Amelia, and practicing the further manipulation of her parents.

New hat and coat.

Finger painting.

Saturday lunch with the family.

Amelia and Georgia loving life.

The face that gets me almost anything I want.

The Gang is back!

It was off to the pumpkin patch this weekend and boy was it cold! Last year it was 85 and this year it was 45, what a difference a year makes. We had a great time and Georgia loved all of the pumpkins to pick from.

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere...

Last year Georgia measured in just under 2ft tall...

The gang is back; Pirate, Princess, Witch, and Georgia! Although the gang had to recently be moved to the hall because someone kept pulling their body parts off...

Georgia and her BFF Elmo (or Aldo as we like to call him)!

Our new camera seems to be working great, it is the photographers that I am worried about. Both Tomme and I are pretty bad at taking pictures, who would have thought it was really that hard?!

More adventures this week as Tomme leaves us for a business trip, we have 5 whole days to ourselves! Georgia and I would have loved to join Tomme in Scottsdale, AZ, but it just wasn't in the cards for us. I guess Tomme, Aunt Nancy, and Uncle Andy will have to be sad without us since they are all going to the same conference...

Fishfie Lang

As some of you have heard Georgia got a beta fish last month and has been taking care of him like a good little mommy. Unfortunately, Fishfie decided to run away from home this past Monday and we found him laying on the counter. Needless to say it has been touch and go since Monday, but Tomme and Georgia have done a good job of nursing him back to health. He has a long way to go in his recovery, but will hopefully be back in good form in a few weeks. While laying on the counter he lost some of his fins so he sort of looks like swiss cheese, but his spirits are high and that is all that counts.

Camera is broken...

I am sure that you are all wondering why I haven't posted in almost two months... Well our camera broke and it took us a while to pick out a new one, which arrives on Friday, just in time for the pumpkin patch this weekend!

I did however come across some pictures that I haven't posted so enjoy a few last ones from the end of our summer...

Life is good

We survived our 9-hour car ride to Minnesota and have the pictures to prove it! We were there with the Lang family vacationing where Tomme used to go every summer. We had lots of fun...

After we settled back in at home, Georgia spent the rest of July and early parts of August lounging around and having a good old time. We put together a table she got from Aunt Ann and Uncle Bill for her birthday and she loves it!

Georgia and Auntie Ann

Cousin Amelia and Georgia had a pool party on our deck and loved it! Georgia and Amelia had a blast and loved hanging out together and enjoying the hot, hot, hot weather...

Under construction and a bunch of other stuff...

Oh boy it has been a long few weeks! After we got back from Florida we started renovating our place to make room for Baby Lang #2. Uncle Mike and Grandpa Karman did a great job and we couldn't be happier with the results. Georgia was quite the little apprentice.

We got some new lounge furniture for our deck and made room for Georgia's pool! Oh boy she is quite the swimmer, she loves the water, whether it is 6 inches deep or 8 feet deep. I think we have a future diver on our hands.

We had a great Father's Day, on Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Lang's and on Monday we headed to a BBQ at Aunt Nancy's House.

And for the big 4th of July weekend we went to Wisconsin Dells with Grandma and Grandpa Karman. Thanks to Uncle Rick we were able to use his condo. Georgia had a great time and wants to go back real soon.

Stay tuned for more Summer fun, next week we are leaving for Alexandria, MN to hang out with the Backlund family. It is our first long car trip, 9 hours in the car...

Florida

Although it hasn't rained in Florida since November, the skies decided to open up this week and they had a record rainfall. Somewhere around Monday night Tomme and I thought we were going to be evacuated from Captiva because the weather was so bad. Good news though two days before we left the sun finally showed up along with our friends Jeremy, Meagan, and Maddie...

Georgia loved everything about the trip, the plane ride, the ocean, the pool, the food, and riding around on the resort trolley!
