School is in Session

Georgia had a big week this week, she has grown a sixth tooth, learned how to clap, nap on the couch and she is now fully using her sippy cup!

Tomme and I also took Georgia to get her passport! She will soon be an international baby (big girl)! The picture she took is priceless, it looks like it is a mug shot...

We also went to a very fancy brunch at the Chicago Hilton this weekend. It was for a traders association. Tomme, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Andy all proudly showed Georgia off. A lot of people were confused as to whose baby Georgia actually was.

I am starting student teaching tomorrow, so all three of us are in for a big change! We have recruited four wonderful Georgia watchers and are very excited that Georgia will be in safe hands! Thanks Grandma Karman, Aunt Nancy, Ashley and Jen for helping us out.

Georgia has been working her tail off trying to tidy the place up for her watchers, she said the hardest part was getting the cabinets clean. She surprisingly did a great job!

Chicago is Cold in January

This week started off with a sad farewell to our friend Carson Karman. Georgia was able to go visit him on Thursday and reminisce about the good times they had together.

Aunt Whitney, Uncle Mark and Amelia came over for a play date and dinner on Wednesday. Even though Amelia is getting so big, Georgia needs to learn that head butting is not an allowable form of showing affection toward Amelia.

That same night Georgia and Tomme installed a new smoke detector.
They must have missed a step because at 3:00 a.m the alarm went off and scared us all half to death. The next day the the two of them found the problem (thanks to me) and we are now sleeping like babies again.
Thursday is when the real trouble began, first the power went out, so off to Hotel Auntie Nancy we went. On Friday as we were heading back home we got a call from Tomme that a pipe had burst in our building. So we stayed at the Hotel for two days, the rates are excellent, the food is so-so, the bathing quarters were cramped and the staff is mediocre. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to book a trip again, we hear they have killer pool parties during the summer months!

Georgia attended her friend Amelia Samet's 2nd birthday party on Saturday and had a blast! It was her first kid birthday party and she loved being around all the kids, big and small.

January Blues

It has been a long and eventful week for us here at the Lang residence. We celebrated Georgia's 10-month birthday and for the first time we had other party guests! Thanks Aunt Ann, Uncle Bill, Ashley and Abbey for taking part in the fun.

We started the tradition of celebrating Georgia's birthday every month because I thought it was fun, which it still is. But now it is exciting to look back and see how much she has changed with each month that passes!

Grandma and Grandpa Karman left for a cruise this week and Georgia has been in charge of watching Carson Karman. At first he was slightly afraid of her, but now they are two peas in a pod.

Carson is very needy so needless to say we have all been working overtime to keep him feeling loved. It seems as though Carson and Tomme have become especially close considering Carson sleeps on top of Tomme. It will be sad to see our little friend go back home...

Welcome 2009

About 10 months ago Tomme and I wanted to start a blog so that all of our friends and family could sit back and watch our new arrival grow... Well, she has grown and grown and grown and now she is one big girl! Georgia has had a fabulous 10 months and said goodbye to 2008 with a bang!

She was very spoiled at Christmas by all of her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! And without a doubt she thoroughly enjoyed it!

Georgia is now crawling and pulling herself up, has four teeth and she also enjoys the occasional thumb sucking! She has added a few words to her vocabulary, including ma-ma, da-da, hi and bye.

Here is a recap of her last 10 months...
